The ONE Matte Velvet Foundation Review

Hey guys! it's been a long time since last time I posted here. I stopped blogging because my inconsistency to blog strikes in, plus I'm quite busy lately with high school. I think I'll keep blogging for the next few weeks as I'm on my holiday now. In this post, I'll be reviewing a makeup product. This will be my first review article, so just take it easy. Ha.

I just bought a foundation like a month ago from "Oriflame Sweden". It's a makeup line which sells many kinds of beauty product and skincare. The foundation I bought is "The ONE Matte Velvet Foundation". I have oily skin and I hardly can find foundation that could actually last on my skin longer without looking "cakey" and messy.

It has five different shades. The first two shades, I believe, are for light skin tones, while the other three shades are for medium skin tone. Honestly, I would not recommend this product for those with darker skin tone because even their darkest shade is still too light. I think this product is more suitable for lighter skin with cool undertone.

I bought the Light Ivory ones, which is actually still a bit too light for me. I should have bought Warm Beige, but I'll make it works by setting it up with compact powder that matches my skin tone. You can do this trick as well if you choose the foundation like me. As long as it's not too dark for your skin, you can still work it out a bit.

PRICE : Rp 139.000
I bought it with a special price, the original price is around Rp 179.000. It may change as they give discounts different products per month. Is it worth it? I would say it does with the special price.

PACKAGING
As you can see, it's in a tube-like packaging. Honestly, I don't fancy the packaging as it could get quite messy at times and the product might leak. The design is just simple and clean, I like the matte color. Not the smallest in size, but it's still travel friendly! At the front side, you could see their brand and product name. It also says that it contains SPF 20, which means that you don't really need to use sunscreen unless you're in an extremely humid area.

While at the back side, they put product number and shade of the product at the top, and then followed by the ingredients, expiration date, and cautions.

COVERAGE
The foundation has creamy texture, it doesn't feel too heavy on my skin nor does it feel too light. I personally think it's just perfect. It gives a normal to medium coverage, so if you're looking for a full, heavy coverage, this one won't do that much. It's easy to blend and it's not lumping up like some other foundations I've tried on. But since I bought the wrong shade, the color really blend well with my skin ha.

STAYING POWER
The staying power is quite good and it doesn't look cakey or patchy on my face even after 4 hours of using it. Based on my "analysis", this foundation can lasts up to 5 hours as long as you set it with compact powder to help controlling the oil if you have oily skin.

The product claims to be oil-free, but it doesn't actually give a complete matte finish look for me. My face looks fresh though, and not the dewy looking type of fresh. I usually set it with compact powder not only to make it lasts longer, but also to get the complete matte finish look.

( + ) Travel Friendly
( + ) Contains SPF 20
( + ) Medium coverage, perfect for daily wear
( + ) Easy to blend
( + ) Give a fresh semi-matte finish look
( + ) Good staying power

( - ) It's a bit too pricey, especially for high school student like me
( - ) Doesn't really suit dry skin, it may works with moisturizer
( - ) Not enough shade variation, only suitable for lighter skintone
( - ) Impractical packaging. It gets messy sometimes when I open it, that's why I hate it.

Rate : 3/5
Repurchase : probably, with the right shade
